Printing with white color or white in combination with CMYK requires detailed file preparation according to the following guidelines:

General File Preparation Rules

Graphic elements printed in white must be marked in the project with an additional color named "White".

Creating the "White" color:

  • The simplest way is to pick the color with a pipette from our prepared sample: White.pdf or White.cdr
  • You can also prepare the palette yourself by adjusting the graphic program according to our instructions
  • White graphic elements must be placed above the CMYK graphics.
  • Apply the Overprint option for the "White" color.

Special Notes

  • Small elements and fonts: For small fonts or details, visible misalignments may occur.
  • Registration shifts: Exercise particular caution with precise projects requiring exact color matching.

Printing with white color on metallic foils is realized only as a standalone print or in combination with color (next to) CMYK, without using a white underprint. For this type of substrate, CMYK printing is done directly on the metallic surface, resulting in a characteristic, shiny metallic effect. The white color can only be used as an independent print layer.

Graphic elements intended for CMYK color printing should be prepared standardly, according to CMYK color printing rules. However, all elements intended for white color printing must be marked as a separate layer defined as an additional spot color named "White".

Creating the "White" color:

UV printing using white color allows for projects on colored and transparent rigid materials (Plaques/signs), ensuring high aesthetics and durability.

File Preparation Guidelines

White Underprint

UV printing on materials (except white materials and milky plexiglass) requires preparing a white underprint.

Clear Plexiglass

  • Printing is done from the reverse side (in mirror image).
  • Then, white paint is applied, serving as a background.
  • Preparing mirror image projects is the Client's responsibility.

Document Layout
To order printing with white color, prepare the document in one of two variants:

  • Multi-page file:
    • Page 1: Color project (CMYK).
    • Page 2: White underprint.
    • Page 3: Shape for contour cutting (only if a different shape is being cut).
  • Separate files:
    • File with the color project (e.g., projekt_kolor.pdf ).
    • File with the white underprint (e.g., projekt_bialy.pdf ).
    • Optionally, file with the cutting shape (e.g., projekt_ciecie.pdf ).

Preparing the Underprint File

Preparation Rules

  • Copy the project to a separate file and change all colors to black (100% K).
  • The conversion of black to white occurs automatically in the machine's software.

Small Texts and Elements

  • For small texts in black color (100% K), a white underprint is not required.

NOTE - IMPORTANT

  • Objects in white color defined as C 0%, M 0%, Y 0%, K 0% will not be printed.

Important, Collected Tips for UV Printing

  • Colored materials require a white underprint, except for white materials and milky plexiglass.
  • Clear plexiglass - printing is done in mirror image with a white underprint as a background layer. Preparing the mirror image is the Client's responsibility.

White 3D, printed in UV technology, creates a distinctly tactile structure, giving the project a unique spatial effect and elegance.

White 3D - File Preparation Rules

  • The project should be prepared in one color (K 100%) - all objects and texts.
  • Do not prepare projects with bleed - due to paint chipping during cutting.
  • The minimum font size is 6 pt
  • It is not recommended to use very thin fonts to maintain a clear printing effect.

UV printing using white color allows for projects on colored and transparent rigid materials and flexible materials (foils), ensuring high aesthetics and durability.

NOTE - IMPORTANT

  • All objects that should remain in the material color (without printing) must be defined as C 0%, M 0%, Y 0%, K 0%
  • All elements in a color other than the above will be printed as 100% white.
