The free prototype is printed on the target machine and on the selected box. It allows you to evaluate the color scheme of the final job and check how the box is assembled and whether it will meet your needs. The prototype option suspends the execution of the order until it is accepted by the Customer. The cost of shipping the prototype is borne by the customer.

Die-cut cardboard box

Die-cut boxes are practical cardboard packaging with a glue-free construction, which can be quickly and conveniently assembled without the use of tape. 
We offer various constructions of die-cut boxes. And that's not all—the range will be continuously expanded. 

Most models are available in two material variants:
•    white corrugated cardboard – a light surface that displays print well, ideal for aesthetic product and shipping packaging
•    grey eco cardboard – a natural look emphasizing the ecological character of the product and zero waste style communication.
The lightweight yet rigid construction ensures that the boxes protect products well and present themselves aesthetically from the very first contact with the brand.

Applications and advantages

Die-cut boxes with print combine protective functionality with an aesthetic product presentation. The large print area enables effective brand exposure, packaging personalization, and the creation of short and medium product series.

Box construction

Die-cut box made of corrugated cardboard. The glueless construction allows for quick assembly without the use of packing tape. 

The regular shapes of the packaging ensure convenient packing and a large surface area for printing. The construction works well both as a product box and as a lightweight shipping package for e-commerce. The box is delivered flat for self-assembly.

Materials

White 3-ply corrugated cardboard, E-flute, grammage approx. 360 g/m²

Grey eco-friendly 3-ply corrugated cardboard, E-flute, grammage approx. 350 g/m²

The materials available in the calculators are selected to match the box construction, in order to optimize its functionality, aesthetics, and packaging safety.

Printing

Available single-sided or double-sided CMYK printing, produced using digital inkjet printing technology, intended for low- and medium-volume production of corrugated cardboard packaging. The technology enables rapid project implementation, short-run production, and packaging personalization without the need for printing forms.

Due to direct printing on the surface of corrugated cardboard, the print may have a more natural appearance compared to offset printing on smooth coated boards. 

Finishing

The technology of direct printing on corrugated cardboard does not provide for additional finishing, such as lamination, UV varnishing, or metallic finishes.

Constructions and formats

The boxes are available ready-made, without the need for individual cutting dies. This solution allows for quick implementation of packaging and economical production of low and medium runs.

Delivery

Die-cut boxes are delivered flat for self-assembly. The glueless construction allows for quick preparation of the packaging without the use of packing tape.

How to prepare a file for printing on ready-made cardboard boxes? 

Project dimensions

The design should be prepared according to the selected template available in the calculator after choosing a specific box pattern/size.

Die-cut templates are available in the D&D database and do not need to be attached to the submitted files.

Do not change the proportions, dimensions, or layout of the provided template. 

Job preparation

The finished design should be prepared as a multi-page PDF file (single- or double-sided print design). 

All essential elements of the design, such as texts, logos, and important graphic elements, should be placed only within the designated safe area, maintaining a distance from the crease lines and the edge of the packaging,
The print area depends on the box construction and is marked on the die-cut template,
Backgrounds and graphics reaching the edge should be prepared with a 2 mm bleed, 
The minimum distance of essential elements from the creasing line and edge should be 5 mm,
All texts should be converted to curves.
Color space: CMYK,
Due to the specifics of direct printing on corrugated cardboard, avoid very fine elements, thin lines, and small texts, especially in reverse. The recommended font size is 8 pt.

Note

Due to the specifics of corrugated cardboard and the production tolerances of finished die-cuts, slight shifts of the print in relation to the crease lines and packaging edges may occur. For this reason, it is not recommended to design elements that require perfect alignment with creases, folds, and box edges. 

Individual boxes in a batch may slightly differ in dimensions and die-cut layout, which is a natural feature of corrugated cardboard packaging production. This may cause minor differences in print placement between individual copies.

Design template

The shape of the cutting line in the template is for reference only. There may be minor differences in the shape of flaps, locks, glue strips, and other technological elements between the template and the die-cutter used. The dimensions of the finished box, the position of the crease lines, and the print areas remain in accordance with the product specification.
